iHeartMedia has announced the lineup for the 2027 iHeartRadio ALTer EGO, its annual celebration of alternative rock, set for Saturday, January 16, 2027, at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. Evanescence and The Offspring lead a bill that also includes a rare solo performance from Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan.

The rest of the lineup features Death Cab for Cutie, Slightly Stoopid, Modest Mouse, Young the Giant, The Warning and Temper City. The show will be hosted by Woody of iHeartRadio ALT 98.7’s nationally syndicated “The Woody Show,” and it will broadcast live on iHeartRadio alternative and rock stations across the country and through the iHeartRadio app.

A broad alternative bill

Programmers described the lineup as spanning several corners of alternative and rock music. Lisa Worden, program director for ALT 98.7 and a senior vice president at iHeartMedia, said the bill bridges veterans such as Evanescence, The Offspring and Death Cab for Cutie with newer acts including The Warning and Temper City, alongside Southern California favorites Slightly Stoopid and Young the Giant.

The mix reflects the station’s effort to serve a genre that has fragmented into many styles. By putting legacy acts and emerging bands on the same stage, the event aims to appeal to listeners who came of age in different eras of alternative rock. Billy Corgan’s solo set is a particular draw, given how rarely he performs outside his band.

Tickets and presales

Capital One cardholders get early access through a presale beginning Tuesday, October 20, at 10 a.m. Pacific and running through Thursday, October 22, at 10 a.m. Pacific, or while supplies last. Cardholders can also add a Capital One Access Pass that includes an exclusive pre-show event with a private soundcheck by Death Cab for Cutie, plus food and drinks.

Listeners of ALT 98.7 can access a limited number of tickets through a VIP sale running from Thursday, October 22, at noon Pacific through Friday, October 23, at noon Pacific. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, October 23, at noon Pacific through Ticketmaster. Leading up to the sale, the station is running a promotion across more than 80 alternative and rock stations to give fans a chance to win trips to Los Angeles for the show.

Part of a larger slate

The ALTer EGO is one of several major events iHeartMedia stages each year, alongside the iHeartRadio Music Festival, the iHeartRadio Music Awards, the Jingle Ball tour and others. The company has built a business around pairing its radio reach with live shows that generate national broadcasts and sponsorship opportunities.

For fans, the announcement sets up one of the first big concert nights of the new year. The event’s formula, a single-night bill that gathers acts from across the genre, has made it a fixture on the alternative calendar, and the 2027 edition appears to follow that template with a lineup designed to span generations of listeners. The show has become a reliable kickoff to the concert year for alternative fans, and the 2027 bill signals that the organizers intend to keep it that way. Artists and events remain subject to change, as the organizers noted in their announcement.
