Corrections Policy
How we handle errors, fix mistakes, and maintain accuracy.
Our Commitment
When we get something wrong, we fix it quickly and visibly. Corrections are not buried or hidden. A correction notice is added at the top of the affected article with a clear note about what was changed and when.
How to Request a Correction
Email thedailyhugle@outlook.com with:
- The URL of the article containing the error
- The specific material that is incorrect
- The correct information, with a source if possible
We review all reasonable requests and respond when a correction is made.
Material vs. Minor Errors
Material errors — facts that affect the meaning or accuracy of the story — are corrected immediately. A correction notice appears at the top of the article.
Minor errors — typos, formatting issues, minor wording problems — are fixed on the next available update without a formal correction notice.
What We Don't Do
We do not silently rewrite published stories without disclosure. If a change is significant enough to alter the meaning of a paragraph or the conclusion of a story, it is flagged as a correction. Updating a story with new information (as events develop) is not the same as correcting an error, and is noted as an update rather than a correction.
Update Notices
When a story is updated with new information after publication — for example, a developing situation or additional details from an official source — the article may include an update notice at the top indicating what was added and when.
